The Royal Albert Hall

Custom Design - The Royal Albert Hall - winner of CJF Contract Installation of the Year 2003.

Carpet designed and produced by Axminster carpets Ltd for the Royal Albert Hall won the CFJ Contract Installation of the year 2003.

The brief

Bordered carpets for rooms, corridors stairs and landings. The border had to be woven into the carpet, not seamed at fitting.

The Royal Albert Hall is an oval shape and the main corridors are in the shape of a giant horseshoe. The curvilinear nature of the building meant that each landing and half landing had to be designed as an individual rug with a border to skim the interior walls.
